United Service Organization (USO): Wherever They Go - U.S. Army Documentary Film
The usual "image" in the public mind of the USO -- the United Service Organization -- is that of a dance, a USO show, a cup of coffee and a rendezvous point. But it is more as seen on THE BIG PICTURE in this documentary film. It is a story that has never fully been told. On the Army's series for television it is dramatically treated without becoming a mere travelogue. It is packed with human interest values which have been quickly spotted by the production staff of the Army Pictorial Center. Here is a story that has needed to be told--and the sooner the better. Just as the human and production resources of the nation are mobilized to provide the sinews of national defense, so are the spiritual and welfare resources of the nation mobilized through the USO to provide off-post welfare and morale building environments for American troops around the world. The USO is with them wherever they go. In this episode, the Army brings to the public the story of a job being done well. To the extent that the American people support the USO program, it is in a sense the story of the public's own effort. Featuring many of the "greats" from the world of entertainment, including Bob Hope, Joe E. Brown, and Edward G. Robinson, THE BIG PICTURE covers a span of current American history, familiar to the more than 15 million men and women who have seen duty in the service since 1941.

U.S. Army's Psychological Warfare Activities in the Korean War: Truth Is Our Defense
This is the story of the Army's Psychological Warfare activities in the Far East Command, primarily as a tactical weapon in Korea. We augment the effectiveness of our combat forces with the potent weapon of words. Through leaflets, shot by artillery shells or dropped from planes; through radio news and dramatic programs from the U.N. radio in Tokyo and the mobile radio stations in Korea; and through loudspeakers mounted on tanks and jeeps, we send our messages of truth to the enemy.

The Innocent Party (1959)
Like many other Centron venereal disease films, The Innocent Party focuses on the morality and emotions associated with venereal disease rather than the medical aspects. The actual mechanics of syphilis transmission are only briefly mentioned let alone prevention via condom use, yet the shame and anguish are clear for all to see. This film echoes the common theme found in many venereal disease films - that premarital sex leads to VD.

Wild Weed (1949)
She Shoulda Said 'No'! (also known as Wild Weed; Marijuana, the Devil's Weed; The Story of Lila Leeds and Her Exposé of the Marijuana Racket; and The Devil's Weed) is a 1949 exploitation film that follows in the spirit of morality tales such as the 1936 films Reefer Madness and Marihuana. Directed by Sherman Scott and starring Lila Leeds, it was originally produced to capitalize on the arrest of Leeds and Robert Mitchum on a charge of marijuana conspiracy. The film was issued under many titles; it struggled to find a distributor until film presenter Kroger Babb picked up the rights, reissuing it as The Story of Lila Leeds and Her Exposé of the Marijuana Racket. Its relative success came only after the promotional posters were redone and a story fabricated that the film was being presented in conjunction with the United States Treasury.
